ID-Patch: Robust ID Association for Group Photo Personalization

Yimeng Zhang, Tiancheng Zhi, Jing Liu, Shen Sang, Liming Jiang, Qing Yan, Sijia Liu, Linjie Luo

展开摘要

The ability to synthesize personalized group photos and specify the positions of each identity offers immense creative potential. While such imagery can be visually appealing, it presents significant challenges for existing technologies. A persistent issue is identity (ID) leakage, where injected facial features interfere with one another, resulting in low face resemblance, incorrect positioning, and visual artifacts. Existing methods suffer from limitations such as the reliance on segmentation models, increased runtime, or a high probability of ID leakage. To address these challenges, we propose ID-Patch, a novel method that provides robust association between identities and 2D positions. Our approach generates an ID patch and ID embeddings from the same facial features: the ID patch is positioned on the conditional image for precise spatial control, while the ID embeddings integrate with text embeddings to ensure high resemblance. Experimental results demonstrate that ID-Patch surpasses baseline methods across metrics, such as face ID resemblance, ID-position association accuracy, and generation efficiency. ICP: Immediate Compensation Pruning for Mid-to-high Sparsity

Xin Luo, Xueming Fu, Zihang Jiang, S. Kevin Zhou

展开摘要

The increasing adoption of large-scale models under 7 billion parameters in both language and vision domains enables inference tasks on a single consumer-grade GPU but makes fine-tuning models of this scale, especially 7B models, challenging. This limits the applicability of pruning methods that require full fine-tuning. Meanwhile, pruning methods that do not require fine-tuning perform well at low sparsity levels (10%-50%) but struggle at mid-to-high sparsity levels (50%-70%), where the error behaves equivalently to that of semi-structured pruning. To address these issues, this paper introduces ICP, which finds a balance between full fine-tuning and zero fine-tuning. First, Sparsity Rearrange is used to reorganize the predefined sparsity levels, followed by Block-wise Compensate Pruning, which alternates pruning and compensation on the model's backbone, fully utilizing inference results while avoiding full model fine-tuning. Experiments show that ICP improves performance at mid-to-high sparsity levels compared to baselines, with only a slight increase in pruning time and no additional peak memory overhead.

IAAO: Interactive Affordance Learning for Articulated Objects in 3D Environments

Can Zhang, Gim Hee Lee

展开摘要

This work presents IAAO, a novel framework that builds an explicit 3D model for intelligent agents to gain understanding of articulated objects in their environment through interaction. Unlike prior methods that rely on task-specific networks and assumptions about movable parts, our IAAO leverages large foundation models to estimate interactive affordances and part articulations in three stages. We first build hierarchical features and label fields for each object state using 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) by distilling mask features and view-consistent labels from multi-view images. We then perform object- and part-level queries on the 3D Gaussian primitives to identify static and articulated elements, estimating global transformations and local articulation parameters along with affordances. Finally, scenes from different states are merged and refined based on the estimated transformations, enabling robust affordance-based interaction and manipulation of objects. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.

展开摘要

Mesh quality assessment (MQA) models play a critical role in the design, optimization, and evaluation of mesh operation systems in a wide variety of applications. Current MQA models, whether model-based methods using topology-aware features or projection-based approaches working on rendered 2D projections, often fail to capture the intricate interactions between texture and 3D geometry. We introduce HybridMQA, a first-of-its-kind hybrid full-reference colored MQA framework that integrates model-based and projection-based approaches, capturing complex interactions between textural information and 3D structures for enriched quality representations. Our method employs graph learning to extract detailed 3D representations, which are then projected to 2D using a novel feature rendering process that precisely aligns them with colored projections. This enables the exploration of geometry-texture interactions via cross-attention, producing comprehensive mesh quality representations. Extensive experiments demonstrate HybridMQA's superior performance across diverse datasets, highlighting its ability to effectively leverage geometry-texture interactions for a thorough understanding of mesh quality. 展开摘要

We introduce HunyuanPortrait, a diffusion-based condition control method that employs implicit representations for highly controllable and lifelike portrait animation. Given a single portrait image as an appearance reference and video clips as driving templates, HunyuanPortrait can animate the character in the reference image by the facial expression and head pose of the driving videos. In our framework, we utilize pre-trained encoders to achieve the decoupling of portrait motion information and identity in videos. To do so, implicit representation is adopted to encode motion information and is employed as control signals in the animation phase. By leveraging the power of stable video diffusion as the main building block, we carefully design adapter layers to inject control signals into the denoising unet through attention mechanisms. These bring spatial richness of details and temporal consistency. HunyuanPortrait also exhibits strong generalization performance, which can effectively disentangle appearance and motion under different image styles. Our framework outperforms existing methods, demonstrating superior temporal consistency and controllability. Our project is available at https://kkakkkka.github.io/HunyuanPortrait.

展开摘要

With the rapid evolution of 3D generation algorithms, the cost of producing 3D humanoid character models has plummeted, yet the field is impeded by the lack of a comprehensive dataset for automatic rigging--a pivotal step in character animation. Addressing this gap, we present HumanRig, the first large-scale dataset specifically designed for 3D humanoid character rigging, encompassing 11,434 meticulously curated T-posed meshes adhered to a uniform skeleton topology. Capitalizing on this dataset, we introduce an innovative, data-driven automatic rigging framework, which overcomes the limitations of GNN-based methods in handling complex AI-generated meshes. Our approach integrates a Prior-Guided Skeleton Estimator (PGSE) module, which uses 2D skeleton joints to provide a preliminary 3D skeleton, and a Mesh-Skeleton Mutual Attention Network (MSMAN) that fuses skeleton features with 3D mesh features extracted by a U-shaped point transformer. This enables a coarse-to-fine 3D skeleton joint regression and a robust skinning estimation, surpassing previous methods in quality and versatility. This work not only remedies the dataset deficiency in rigging research but also propels the animation industry towards more efficient and automated character rigging pipelines.

展开摘要

As AI models are increasingly integrated into applications involving human interaction, understanding the alignment between human perception and machine vision has become essential. One example is the estimation of visual motion (optical flow) in dynamic applications such as driving assistance. While there are numerous optical flow datasets and benchmarks with ground truth information, human-perceived flow in natural scenes remains underexplored. We introduce HuPerFlow--a benchmark for human-perceived flow, measured at 2,400 locations across ten optical flow datasets, with 38,400 response vectors collected through online psychophysical experiments. Our data demonstrate that human-perceived flow aligns with ground truth in spatiotemporally smooth locations while also showing systematic errors influenced by various environmental properties. Additionally, we evaluated several optical flow algorithms against human-perceived flow, uncovering both similarities and unique aspects of human perception in complex natural scenes. HuPerFlow is the first large-scale human-perceived flow benchmark for alignment between computer vision models and human perception, as well as for scientific exploration of human motion perception in natural scenes. The HuPerFlow benchmark will be available online upon acceptance.

展开摘要

Seamless integration of both aerial and street view images remains a significant challenge in neural scene reconstruction and rendering. Existing methods predominantly focus on single domain, limiting their applications in immersive environments, which demand extensive free view exploration with large view changes both horizontally and vertically. We introduce Horizon-GS, a novel approach built upon Gaussian Splatting techniques, tackles the unified reconstruction and rendering for aerial and street views. Our method addresses the key challenges of combining these perspectives with a new training strategy, overcoming viewpoint discrepancies to generate high-fidelity scenes. We also curated a high-quality aerial-to-ground view dataset encompassing both synthetic and real-world scene to advance further research. Experiments across diverse urban scene datasets confirms the effectiveness of our method.

展开摘要

Analyses of human motion kinematics have achieved tremendous advances. However, the production mechanism, known as human dynamics, is still undercovered. In this paper, we aim to push data-driven human dynamics understanding forward. We identify a major obstacle to this as the heterogeneity of existing human motion understanding efforts. Specifically, heterogeneity exists in not only the diverse kinematics representations and hierarchical dynamics representations but also in the data from different domains, namely biomechanics and reinforcement learning. With an in-depth analysis of the existing heterogeneity, we propose to emphasize the beneath homogeneity: all of them represent the homogeneous fact of human motion, though from different perspectives. Given this, we propose Homogeneous Dynamics Space (HDyS) as a fundamental space for human dynamics by aggregating heterogeneous data and training a homogeneous latent space with inspiration from the inverse-forward dynamics procedure. Leveraging the heterogeneous representations and datasets, HDyS achieves decent mapping between human kinematics and dynamics. We demonstrate the feasibility of HDyS with extensive experiments and applications. The project page is https://foruck.github.io/HDyS.

Hierarchical Flow Diffusion for Efficient Frame Interpolation

Yang Hai, Guo Wang, Tan Su, Wenjie Jiang, Yinlin Hu

展开摘要

Most recent diffusion-based methods still show a large gap compared to non-diffusion methods for video frame interpolation, in both accuracy and efficiency. Most of them formulate the problem as a denoising procedure in latent space directly, which is less effective caused by the large latent space. We propose to model bilateral optical flow explicitly by hierarchical diffusion models, which has much smaller search space in the denoising procedure. Based on the flow diffusion model, we then use a flow-guided image synthesizer to produce the final result. We train the flow diffusion model and the image synthesizer end to end. Our method achieves state of the art in accuracy, and 10+ times faster than other diffusion-based methods. The project page is at: https://hfd-interpolation.github.io.

Hierarchical Compact Clustering Attention (COCA) for Unsupervised Object-Centric Learning

Can Kucuksozen, Yucel Yemez

展开摘要

We propose the Compact Clustering Attention (COCA) layer, an effective building block that introduces a hierarchical strategy for object-centric representation learning, while solving the unsupervised object discovery task on single images. COCA is an attention-based clustering module capable of extracting object-centric representations from multi-object scenes, when cascaded into a bottom-up hierarchical network architecture, referred to as COCA-Net. At its core, COCA utilizes a novel clustering algorithm that leverages the physical concept of compactness, to highlight distinct object centroids in a scene, providing a spatial inductive bias. Thanks to this strategy, COCA-Net generates high-quality segmentation masks on both the decoder side and, notably, the encoder side of its pipeline. Additionally, COCA-Net is not bound by a predetermined number of object masks that it generates and handles the segmentation of background elements better than its competitors. We demonstrate COCA-Net's segmentation performance on six widely adopted datasets, achieving superior or competitive results against the state-of-the-art models across nine different evaluation metrics.

展开摘要

Existing 2D-to-3D human pose estimation (HPE) methods struggle with the occlusion issue by enriching information like temporal and visual cues in the lifting stage. In this paper, we argue that these methods ignore the limitation of the sparse skeleton 2D input representation, which fundamentally restricts the 2D-to-3D lifting and worsens the occlusion issue. To address these, we propose a novel two-stage generative densification method, named Hierarchical Pose AutoRegressive Transformer (HiPART), to generate hierarchical 2D dense poses from the original sparse 2D pose. Specifically, we first develop a multi-scale skeleton tokenization module to quantize the highly dense 2D pose into hierarchical tokens and propose a skeleton-aware alignment to strengthen token connections. We then develop a hierarchical autoregressive modeling scheme for hierarchical 2D pose generation. With generated hierarchical poses as inputs for 2D-to-3D lifting, the proposed method shows strong robustness in occluded scenarios and achieves state-of-the-art performance on the single-frame-based 3D HPE. Moreover, it outperforms numerous multi-frame methods while reducing parameter and computational complexity and can also complement them to further enhance performance and robustness.

HiLoTs: High-Low Temporal Sensitive Representation Learning for Semi-Supervised LiDAR Segmentation in Autonomous Driving

R.D. Lin, Pengcheng Weng, Yinqiao Wang, Han Ding, Jinsong Han, Fei Wang

展开摘要

LiDAR point cloud semantic segmentation plays a crucial role in autonomous driving. In recent years, semi-supervised methods have gained popularity due to their significant reduction in annotation labor and time costs. Current semi-supervised methods typically focus on point cloud spatial distribution or consider short-term temporal representations, e.g., only two adjacent frames, often overlooking the rich long-term temporal properties inherent in autonomous driving scenarios. In driving experience, we observe that nearby objects, such as roads and vehicles, remain stable while driving, whereas distant objects exhibit greater variability in category and shape. This natural phenomenon is also captured by LiDAR, which reflects lower temporal sensitivity for nearby objects and higher sensitivity for distant ones. To leverage these characteristics, we propose HiLoTs, which learns high-temporal sensitivity and low-temporal sensitivity representations from continuous LiDAR frames. These representations are further enhanced and fused using a cross-attention mechanism. Additionally, we employ a teacher-student framework to align the representations learned by the labeled and unlabeled branches, effectively utilizing the large amounts of unlabeled data. Experimental results on the SemanticKITTI and nuScenes datasets demonstrate that our proposed HiLoTs outperforms state-of-the-art semi-supervised methods, and achieves performance close to LiDAR+Camera multimodal approaches.

HeatFormer: A Neural Optimizer for Multiview Human Mesh Recovery

Yuto Matsubara, Ko Nishino

展开摘要

We introduce a novel method for human shape and pose recovery that can fully leverage multiple static views. We target fixed-multiview people monitoring, including elderly care and safety monitoring, in which cameras can be installed at the corners of a room or an open space but whose configuration may vary depending on the environment. Our key idea is to formulate it as neural optimization. We achieve this with HeatFormer, a neural optimizer that iteratively refines the SMPL parameters given multiview images. HeatFormer realizes this SMPL parameter estimation as heatmap generation and alignment with a novel transformer encoder and decoder. Our formulation makes HeatFormer fundamentally agnostic to the number of cameras, their configuration, and calibration. We demonstrate the effectiveness of HeatFormer including its accuracy, robustness to occlusion, and generalizability through an extensive set of experiments. We believe HeatFormer can serve a key role in passive human behavior modeling.

Harnessing Global-Local Collaborative Adversarial Perturbation for Anti-Customization

Long Xu, Jiakai Wang, Haojie Hao, Haotong Qin, Jiejie Zhao, Xianglong Liu

展开摘要

Though achieving significant success in personalized image synthesis, Latent Diffusion Models (LDMs) pose substantial social risks caused by unauthorized misuse (e.g., face theft). To counter these threats, the Anti-Customization (AC) method that exploits adversarial perturbations was proposed. Unfortunately, existing AC methods show insufficient defense ability due to the ignorance of hierarchical characteristics, i.e., global feature correlations and local facial attributes, leading to weak resistance to concept transfer and semantic theft in customization methods. To address these limitations, we are motivated to propose a **G**lobal-L**o**cal c**o**llaborate**d** Anti-Customization (GoodAC) framework to generate powerful adversarial perturbations by disturbing both feature correlations and facial attributes. To enhance the ability to resist concept transfer, we disrupt the spatial correlation of perceptual features that form the basis of model generation at a global level, thereby creating highly concept-transfer-resistant adversarial camouflage. To improve the ability to resist semantic theft, leveraging the fact that facial attributes are personalized, we designed a personalized and precise facial attribute distortion strategy locally, focusing the attack on the individual's image structure to generate strong camouflage. Extensive experiments on various customization methods, including Dreambooth and LoRA, have strongly demonstrated that our GoodAC outperforms other state-of-the-art approaches by large margins, e.g., over 50% improvements on ISM.

展开摘要

Recent contrastive multimodal vision-language models like CLIP have demonstrated robust open-world semantic understanding, becoming the standard image backbones for vision-language applications. However, recent findings suggest high semantic similarity between well-trained unimodal encoders, which raises a key question: Are semantically similar embedding spaces separated only by simple projection transformations? To validate this, we propose a novel framework that aligns vision and language using frozen unimodal encoders. It involves selecting semantically similar encoders in the latent space, curating a concept-rich dataset of image-caption pairs, and training simple MLP projectors. We evaluated our approach on various tasks involving both strong unimodal vision (0-shot localization) and language encoders (multi-lingual, long context) and show that simple Projectors retain unimodal capabilities in joint embedding space. Furthermore, our best model, utilizing DINOv2 and All-Roberta-Large text encoder, achieves 76(%) accuracy on ImageNet with a 20-fold reduction in data and 65-fold reduction in compute requirements compared to multimodal alignment where models are trained from scratch. The proposed framework enhances the accessibility of multimodal model development while enabling flexible adaptation across diverse scenarios. Code and curated datasets are available at github.com/mayug/freeze-align.

Handling Spatial-Temporal Data Heterogeneity for Federated Continual Learning via Tail Anchor

展开摘要

Federated Continual Learning (FCL) allows each client to continually update its knowledge from task streams, enhancing the applicability of federated learning in real-world scenarios. However, FCL needs to address not only spatial data heterogeneity between clients but also temporal data heterogeneity between tasks. In this paper, empirical experiments demonstrate that such input-level heterogeneity significantly affects the model's internal parameters and outputs, leading to severe spatial-temporal catastrophic forgetting of local and previous knowledge. To this end, we propose Federated Tail Anchor (FedTA) to mix trainable Tail Anchor with the frozen output features to adjust their position in the feature space, thereby overcoming parameter-forgetting and output-forgetting. Three novel components are also included: Input Enhancement for improving the performance of pre-trained models on downstream tasks; Selective Input Knowledge Fusion for fusion of heterogeneous local knowledge on the server; and Best Global Prototype Selection for finding the best anchor point for each class in the feature space. Extensive experiments demonstrate that FedTA not only outperforms existing FCL methods but also effectively preserves the relative positions of features.

HUNet: Homotopy Unfolding Network for Image Compressive Sensing

Feiyang Shen, Hongping Gan

展开摘要

Deep Unfolding Networks (DUNs) have risen to prominence due to their interpretability and superior performance for image Compressive Sensing (CS). However, existing DUNs still face significant issues, such as the insufficient representation capability of single-scale image information during the iterative reconstruction phase and loss of feature information, which fundamentally limit the further enhancement of image CS performance. In this paper, we propose Homotopy Unfolding Network (HUNet) for image CS, which enables phase-by-phase reconstruction of images along homotopy path. Specifically, each iteration step of the traditional homotopy algorithm is mapped to a Multi-scale Homotopy Iterative Module (MHIM), which includes U-shaped stacked window-based Transformer blocks capable of efficient feature extraction. Within the MHIM, we design the deep homotopy continuation strategy to ensure the interpretability of the homotopy algorithm and facilitate feature learning. Additionally, we introduce a dual-path feature fusion module to mitigate the loss of high-dimensional feature information during the transmission between iterative phases, thereby maximizing the preservation of details in the reconstructed image. Extensive experiments indicate that HUNet achieves superior image reconstruction results compared to existing state-of-the-art methods. The source code is available at https://github.com/ICSResearch/HUNet.

HSI: A Holistic Style Injector for Arbitrary Style Transfer

Shuhao Zhang, Hui Kang, Yang Liu, Fang Mei, Hongjuan Li

展开摘要

Attention-based arbitrary style transfer methods have gained significant attention recently due to their impressive ability to synthesize style details. However, the point-wise matching within the attention mechanism may overly focus on local patterns such that neglect the remarkable global features of style images. Additionally, when processing large images, the quadratic complexity of the attention mechanism will bring high computational load. To alleviate above problems, we propose Holistic Style Injector (HSI), a novel attention-style transformation module to deliver artistic expression of target style. Specifically, HSI performs stylization only based on global style representation that is more in line with the characteristics of style transfer, to avoid generating local disharmonious patterns in stylized images. Moreover, we propose a dual relation learning mechanism inside the HSI to dynamically render images by leveraging semantic similarity in content and style, ensuring the stylized images preserve the original content and improve style fidelity. Note that the proposed HSI achieves linear computational complexity because it establishes feature mapping through element-wise multiplication rather than matrix multiplication. Qualitative and quantitative results demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches in both effectiveness and efficiency.

展开摘要

Recent advances in implicit neural representations (INRs) have shown significant promise in modeling visual signals for various low-vision tasks including image super-resolution (ISR). INR-based ISR methods typically learn continuous representations, providing flexibility for generating high-resolution images at any desired scale from their low-resolution counterparts. However, existing INR-based ISR methods utilize multi-layer perceptrons for parameterization in the network; this does not take account of the hierarchical structure existing in local sampling points and hence constrains the representation capability. In this paper, we propose a new Hierarchical encoding based Implicit Image Function for continuous image super-resolution, HIIF, which leverages a novel hierarchical positional encoding that enhances the local implicit representation, enabling it to capture fine details at multiple scales. Our approach also embeds a multi-head linear attention mechanism within the implicit attention network by taking additional non-local information into account. Our experiments show that, when integrated with different backbone encoders, HIIF outperforms the state-of-the-art continuous image super-resolution methods by up to 0.17dB in PSNR. The source code of HIIF will be made publicly available at www.github.com.
